A COMPLETE PROGRAM OF THE
THREE DAY CONFERENCE TO
BE HELD HERE.
Tomorrow evening marks the open
ing of the annual conference of the
Cordoio District Epworth League.
Delegates will begin to arrive dur
ing the day tomorrow. Quite a num
ber have notified the home commit
tee that they will not reach here un
til late afternoon and evening and as
a result the reception which'was to
have been held prior to the Friday
evening program at the home of Mrs.
K. R. Lewis will be postponed to a
later hour than, that indicated by
the invitations that were issued early
in the week. It is now scheduled to
qecur immediately after the ; pro
gram.

This delegation will be headed by J.
3. Brown, the next commissioner of
agriculture.
Palatka is preparing to make the
occasion a pleasant as well as profit
able one to all visitors. Among the
delightful features that are being
planned .are a free ride on the Clyde
Line Steamer on the St Johns River
to Crescent City where a free barbe
cue will be given the convention and
visitors and an auto trip to St Au
gustine which Is -a place Of historic
interest, being the second eldest city

that the organized and individual ex
hibits from Dooly won generous
recognition at the State Fair. The
Canning Club Girls covered them-'
selves all'over with glory, not stop
ping with anything short of the high
est honor that could be received.
Their exhibit was passed up by the
judges as superior to that of any
other canning clnb in the state
was awarded the first premium,
Dooly Club has- accomplished
which no other club in the state
ever dona. It has won this

Pinehurst has the distinction of
being the only city in Dooly which
has announced that it will observe
Georgia Products Day on Saturday

an’s Club is behind the project and
those who have had the privilege of

the culinary skill of these Pinehurst

tation to be on hand. The menu
which they have planned includes a
variety of delightful and toothsome
dainties and quite as many substan
tial (fishes prepared from Georgia
products. A great many of the things
that are to bo served are homegrown
having been contributed by the peo
ple in and near the city.
This promises to be a great feast
and its ultimata purpose being a very
worthy one, the improvement and
beautification of this enterprising

two years since picture service was
inaugurated.
The splendid new Dixie Theater is
rapidly nearing completion and will
be occupied within the present month.
The house with a seating capacity of
325 will be modern in all Its appoint
ments. This capacity more than
double that of the theater now in use,
will afford adequate accomodations
for theatergoers of Vienna and will
open the way for a fuller enjoyment
cf the excellent picture, offerings to
be seen at the Dixie.
Manager Taylor is firm in the be
lief that there is nothing too good
for hie patroni, and choicest film of
ferings are in regular schedule, with
most famous pictures on occasion.
Arrangements hare been completed
which will bring "The Fall of a Na
tion” to the new Dixie next month.

When Dr. 3. M. Whitehead, after
twenty-five years in 'dentistry in
Dooly county decided to enter a
wider field of activity he teixed op
portunity by the forelock when he
grabbed the local agency for Ford
automobiles and accessories. The
doctor recognise^ the fact that Ford
cars have a way of negotiating bills
and country roads not possessed by
automobiles generally and that the
Ford people had established a repu
tation for honest goods and fair
dealing that Is worth while.
The local agent has reaped the re
ward of good judgment and the per
sistent activity -required in trade in
tha bright and shining morning of
the twentieth century. He now has
in course of construction, end for
tccupancy on January 1, a modem
garage which will shine in compari
son with those of metropolitan cities.
The new building, of brick, is 00 by
100 feet with plans calling for show
icom and salesroom 30 by 36, garage
SO by 62 and shop 38 by 60. There
will be convenient offices and rest
rooms for ladies with modern ap
pointments, including steam heat
throughout, an innovation in garage
construction here. Transparent par

in February, 1912, selling 15 cars the

42 during the year of panic. Last
year sales were 87 ,and the current

ment* have just been completed by
the Georgia Southern and Florida
Railway for the operation of a Dairy
Instruction and Live Stock train ov
er its lines commencing November
27th for the purpose of encouraging
farmers to take up live stock raising
and dairying and to practice diver
sification and improved methods of
growing cotton so as to be prepared
for the boll weevil. The tour will
embrace twenty-aix stops and an en
tire day will be spent at each point
with lectures and demonstrations in
tile morning and afternoon. • .
