spectfully shows;
(1)
That heretofore, to-wit, on the 8th
day of December, 1906, The T. H.
Gregory Company was duly chartered
by order of the Superior Court, of
said county for a .term of twenty
years, and that the capital stock of
said corporation was $20,000.00 di
vided in shares of $100.00 each.
(2)
Petitioners further show to the
court that they own and control a
majority of the stock of said Corpo
ration.
(3)
Petitioners further show to the
Court that a meeting was called, all
the stock-holders of said Corporation
having had notice of said meeting,
for the purpose of reducing the cap
ital stock of said Corporation to the
amount of $10,000.00 as ^Capital
stock, to be issued in shares of $60.00
each Instead of $100.00, and that at
said meeting called for such purpose
a majority of the stock holders of
said Corporation voted for the reso
lution to reduce the capital stock as
aforesaid; a copy of said resolution
being hereto attached and marked
Exhibit “A” and made a. part of this
petition and of this paragraph.
Wherefore; Petitioners pray that
the original charter of the said The
T. H. Gregory Company be amended
by said epurt in order that the same
may show that the capital stock of
said Corporation shall be $10,000.00
to be issued in shares of $60.00 each.

The fire started, in the storage
room for cotton seed hulls and fan
ned by a brisk breeze, spread quickly
over the building. More than 2,000
tons of velvet beans were destroyed.
Two freight cars belonging to the
Central of Georgia, loaded with vel
vet beans were destroyed. Automatic
fire sprinklers in the milling rooms
saved that part of the plant.

JOHNSON CONVICTED
OF MURDERING WADE
Americas, March.—The jury in the
cue of Warren L Johnson, charged
with the murder, of Walter Wade,
brought fa a verdict of guilty, with
recommendation to the mercy of the

The court immediately sen
tenced the defendant, and a motion
for a new trial was filed by cotn
for the defense. He is the second of
thes fa defendants in this celebrated
case to be convicted. The jury
had the case under consideration '
late Friday afternoon.
