Mrs. Mittie Thombley is in receipt of a letter announcing that her son Bob has arrived safely overseas. Private Olin Patterson, of Camp Wheeler, was a visitor in the city Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Carroll ,of Unadilla saw “A Daughter of the Gods" at the DeSoto Theatre Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harvard, and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Dinkins, of Una- dilld, saw the "Daughter of the Gods” at the DeSoto Friday. Enough munitions are used in the making of “The Honor System” to start a young war. Notes has resigned d'er'k of the Local Exemption Board, which office he has capably filled for the past several months. Mr. Noles resignation takes effect today, |ie will leave Monday for his home in East man. It is Mr. Noles’ purpose to en ter some branch of military service in the near future. It will be of interest to Charlie C. Bennett’s many friends here to know that he has recently been commission ed a First Lieutenant. Lieut. Ben nett has been promoted rapidly since ho has been in the army. It is said that he exhibits a particular aptitude for military lore, hence his desirabil ity ns a commanding officer.
