Electric Light i> the best light Electric Power u the be>t power You can have electricity right in your home.' This plant brings you the many labor saving devices the city dweller enjoys. It gives you light—ready for use every hour of the day and night. The snap of ■ switch floods the house and barn with os much light os you could wish for. Snap another switch and tho motor turns the washer and wringer. It's easier to snap a switch than it is to fill and clean oil lamps. It’s eqfcr and better light, and it saves n vast amount of work when electricity does the washing and the other distasteful tasks. Install Western Electric POWER AND LIGHT CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS ' MAY BE EXEMPT FROM WAR Atlanta, Ga.—On account of the vast number of competent account ants who will be needed next pear in calculating income tax returns under the new war revenue bill, which tran scends all legislation of this charac ter that has gone before, it is being suggested here that accountants should be exempted from military service, inasmuch as they are indis- {pensablc in the business world. The Georgia State Board of Certi fied Public Accountants Examiners will hold an examination in Atlanta on November 20 and 21. The chair man of the board, Joel Hunter, points out the wonderful opportuni ties open to qualified men of good character in this profession. It is es timated that 1,000 accountants will be needed next year in income tax work alone. In view of the fact that there are only about 2.S00 certified public accountants in the entire coun try, the impending shortage is easy to appreciate. Men in this profession are splendidly paid, and there will al ways be a greater demand than the supply can satisfy. You want to know just what your sol dier boys are doing in France America’s Answer Tells You. While showing the tremendous industrial activities of the United States in France, growing out of the colossal needs of the war, “Amer ica’s Answer” also replies, in the thunderous roar of cannon and the driving force of America’s soldiers, to the Kaiser’s declaration that “America wouldn’t fight.” The answer has already reached the Hohenzoilerns. * It is your duty, as well as your privilege to see AMERICA’S ANSWER at the DeSoto Theatre, vien 2eorgia OCTOBER 24-25. It is just as much you* personal re sponsibility to keep this war three thousand miles away as it is the re sponsibility of our army, but you must get face to face with this “Made in Germany hell,’’ or "hell made in Germany,” and determine what is your individual responsibility . and whether you will ehoulder that reepon ■ibility. If yon do, you are a true American. If you do not, you are cooperating with Germany and are therefore an enemy of- the United States. .Persona! responsibility will win the war. Thep ersonal responsibility of, thosew ho fight and the personal re sponsibility of those who will finance. One is just as important as the other. Do not let the other fellow do it. Thank God there are enough true American “other 'fellows’’ to do It, but you must do your part if you hope to be able after victory is Won to look our returned heroes in the eyes and claim a part of hte victory. Do not be too optipilatic over the outcome. It is true our armies' are winning many important victories, but the Kaiser, theb east of Berlin, and his hellians, know they are con victed of every crime against civiliza tion, they have devastated whole | countries, they have destroyed cities, ruined thousands of women'and girls, burned old men and women, bayonet ed babies, and committed numerous other crimes which cannot.be mention ed, they know that the reckoning day will come and they will fight to thg last ditch rather than face just pun ishment for their'erimes.
