Atlanta, Feb. 27.—Atlanta society

A Georgia bred woman, they say,

and economy that the women of
nearly all the best Georgia families
learned in the period of financial
depression that followed the Civil
war.
There are .Atlanta women who

LOOKING AT A
PISTOL ISN'T ILLEGAL
Atlanta, Feb. 25.—Merely to
pick up a pistol, to look at it is not
a violation of the Georgia law
against pistol toting, according to a
decision Just handed dow-i by the
state court of appeals. In order to
violate the law, a man has actually
to carry the weapon about with him
in the common sense meaning of the
wordB. A man named Jackson had
been convicted for violating the pis
tol toting law In Randolph superior
court. Ho appealed to the appelate
court. Evidence showed that at the
time when he was arrested he was
considering the purchase of a pis
tol ahd that he had stepped about
20 feet dway from the seller to ex
amine the weapon when he was ar
rested. Informatio.1 from outside
was to the effect that Jackson was
buying the pistol for a weapon to
hare ln his house. The Court of
appeals reversed the lower courts
conviction and decided that In mere
ly picking up a weapon and carrying
it to the front door of the store to
look at it, was not violating either
the letter or spirits of the Georgia
law.
