Representative of Kona Cocoa Was

Cocoa.
A. .1. namoDdmiu, representing the
Van Houten and Zoon Company,
makers of the Rona Cocoa, was in
Thomasville Saturday and express
ed himself as delighted with the
city and its natural beauty. He also
was very happy in his expression ot
the evidence of prosperity and bus 1 -
ness which he saw on every 6ide.
Mr. Edmondson says that Rona
Cocoa has had a very good sale in
Thomasville, and lie attributed it to
the advertising which he has been
doing In The Times-Enterprise, and
which he believes is carefully Ob
served by the people of this terri
tory. He says that it has created a
demand with the retailers which
makes them keep a full stock of the
product on hand at all times.
The use of cocoa, Mr. Edmondson
says, Is growing all over the world,
and is rapidly taking the place of
other table and refreshment drinks.
An attractive feature or the Rona
Cocoa is that it is imported and is
sold at half the price of domestic
cocoa.

Congressman Itocldenbery After
the Entertainment, at Stu

The University of Georgia Glee
Club entertained a large number of
Thomasville people a* tne Young’s
College Auditorium Saturday even
ing. This was perhaps the first
college glee club which has ever been
heard in Thomasville and the im
pression made by the young men
was decidedly pleasant to those who
attended. The Mandolin and Guitar
Club rendered several selections and
was liberally applauded. Mr. James
Pringle, of this city, a member of
the Club last year,'took one of the
parts, in the absence of one of the
guitar jilayers. They were liberally
encored on every selection.
The quartette of the Glee Club
composed of Messrs. Roddenbery,
Teasley. Holmes and Conyers, was
especially good, and their selections
were happy In every instance. They
were forced to give three encores, one
of which was the old-time, “My
Baby Wants a Pair of Shoes,” suc
cessfully imitated with the bones.
Mr. John Roddenbery sang

MEMPHIS IN DANGER BUT OTHER
CITIES SEEM TO BE HOLDING
THEIR OWN /AGAINST THE
FLOOD TIDES.
Memphis, Tenn., April b.—The
Mississippi continues to rise here at
the rate of a foot and a half a day,
registering 42.4 feet this morning.
The brick protecting wall, used as
a levee along Bayou Gayoso, broke
early this morning, flooding the
small residence section In the north
ern part of Memphis. This same
section was flooded last spring.
It Is not believed that the damage
resulting from the present break
will be very heavy, and no los* of
life has been reported.
Rumors that the levees at Point
Pleasant, Mo., gave away last night,
flood St. Francis Basin, were de
nied this morning by the United
3tates Engineers office. (
The fall in the river stage at Cairo
Is attributed to the flooding of the
upper St. Francis basin by the wa
ter flowing over the old stretch of
levee above New Madison, on which
work has been abandoned. This wa
ter will return to the Mississippi
river Just below New Maderia.
The conditions In the Reel Fool
■section Is reported good, and five
hundred additional men were put
to work today on the levee above
Greenville, Miss., topping It with
sandbags.
As a result of the breaking of the
Bayou Gayoso, the levee section of
Memphis, three blocks wide and six
to nine blocks long has been flooded
In three to six feet of water. The
residences in this section are small
frame buildings.
