particular intention of killing Min
nle Taylor, and that except for this
one occasion, she has been a law
abiding, hard-working woman.

The monument to be erected to
the memory of Congressman James
M. Griggs, In his home town, Daw
son, will be unveiled on the twenty-
sixth of’ Juae, and plans are being
made for the exercises, according
to the Dawson News, which gives
the following preliminary account of
the event:
. “Hon. H. M. McIntosh, of Albany,
chairman of the committee that was
appointed to receive contributions
and erect a monument to commem
orate the public services of Con
gressman Griggs, of the Sec
ond district, wiiB in Dawson this
morning conferring with the family
and friends of the late congressman
as to a time of the unveiling exer
cises. Thursday, June 26th, was
agreed up as the date, and o com
mittee consisting of F. M. McNulty,
E. L. Rainey, A. J. Carver. J. 3.
Lowrey, J. D. Weaver, J. D. Tweedy,
W. S. Dozier and J. C. Hollings
worth was appointed to arrange the
program.
“The exercises will occur at 16
o'clock in the morning, and the ad
dress wil be delivered by Hon. Wil
liam M. Howard, of Lexington, who
was a colleague in congress of Judge
Griggs for a number of years. The
regimental band of Shellman will
be present.
The monument has been com
pleted and shipped, and a represen
tative of the company in here
erect it.”

Miss Irma Powell, of Cairo, and Mr.
C. R. Beall, of North Georgia, were
married yesterday at five thirty
o’clock, in Cairo. The bridal party
came to Thomasville immediately,
after the ceremony, and the bride
and groom left on the A., B. & A.
for points north, where they
spend several weeks.
