Mr. John O. J. Lewis died yester-
day afternoon about one thirty at
his residence on Smith .'.venue. He
was taken 111 about eleven thirty and
lingered only two hours, heart trou
ble causing death. Mr, Lewis was

little Ernest took its final flight to

It was heart-breaking to give the
little darling up, but God’s will must

of life he could not find a sweeter

A Sunday School picnic was held
on Friday, July -Uli, at New Shi
loh Missionary Baptist Church, five
miles north of town, on the Irwin-
vi 1 le road. This was the first picnic
at this church since it was organ
ized. This is prac’ieally the Oak
Hill community, composed of as fine
