BURGLAR IS GAU6HI
The proposition to creaV the
<ounty of Hansell is being vigorous
ly pushed by the money and brains
of the town of Meigs. Th? lobby
•which they are conducting in At
lanta is said to be as extensive and
startling as that of any other coun
ty favorites. The proposition was
one about which the majority ot
Thomas county citizens were lot
*erv much exercised, for they t’ld not
believe that there was a ghott of a
chame for success and little reason
for the attempt.
However, in the past few days,
things have gotten warm, too warm
in fact for some of the good breth
ren, in the Ochlocknee district,
many of whom are said to bitterly
oppose this movement, although it
embraces a good portion of that
district. They have discovered that
a Meigs committee put one over on
them, when they got the signatures
*f many of the Ochjoekne residents
by what is termed hv Hon. J. B.
tftubbs, “deceitful trickery." In a
card, Mr. Stubbs states that the
committee obtained the signatures
o? the Ochlockne© people by statin-:
that the <ounty was to be formed
sure and that they wanted Meigs to
he the county seat, intimating that
the signature of the petition was
nothing more than a preference to
.Meigs over Pelham. It seems that
the signature also contained an as
sent to the proposition to form the
county and waf really a peti ion so
to do.

It is really a fact that Thomasville
is to have a new passenger station.
This matter has been decided some
time, but there has been a hitch in
the plans which has delayed the
formal announcement, which hinges
on the a ceptance of the proposed
plans by the City Council. The
Coast Line will have them ready
for their inspection in a short time
and actual work on the grading and
erection of th? building will not
begin later than 1914,
