ment prepared for Congress, the
fact was • disclosed that sixty thou
sand dollars will be necessary to re
pair the damage done the buildings
occupied by the Pension Bureau and
Office of Public Lands, in last week’s
storm.
This amount represents the loss
' done by stripping off the roofs, mash-
, ing windows and otherwise wreck
ing these structures and doesn’t re
present the loss to the grounds and
many other government buildings
suffered slightly.
The bills for damage will be
submitted later, and they will proba
bly be great.
