A Highly Esteemed woman
Passed Away.
The many friends of Mrs. Bettis
Spalr will be grieved to learn of her
death, which occurred at the home
of her nelce, Mrs. G. S. Alexander,
on Fletcher Street, Monday evening

for over three months, and had suf
fered so much pain, hut bore it with
patience and was so willing to go,
hen the call of her loving Saviour
came.
She had been a devoted member
of the Methodist church for many
years and was always ready to help

Mrs. Spalr was the wife of the late
Captain John Spalr, who proceeded
her to the grave some years ago.
She was born in Wadesboro, An

was born last month and for a week
•behaved as all young biddies do,
walking about on four legs, all well
formed, perfectly developed and use
ful. It died after a week and has
been preserved by Mr. Joiner.
