To complete the list, The Journal of the American Medical Association has recently raised its dignified and professional editorial voice in gentle warning. Shreveport, La., Dec. 16.—Two negroes, Frank Williams and Ear nest Williams, were lynched by a mob at Blanchard, Louisiana, today, after they had confessed to killing Calvin Ballard a white man. Ballard's body was found hacked to piece, in his store, Saturday morning. Robbery is assigned as the motive for the crime. Hillard was recently released from prison, after he had killed three ne gro prisoners, who were trying t escape. At that time he was servin ten years for killing his brother. London, Dec. 1G.—The biggest private real estate deal on record in England, was completed today when the Duke of Tied ford sold nineteen acres of land whi-h is situated rl'-’ht in the heart of London, to Harry Mallaby Deely, a Unionist member of the House of Commons. The purchase price was many mil lions pounds sterling, but the actual figures are withheld. Tbe agents said, however, that tbe purchase price exceeded by several million pounds, the largest rum ever paid u:r <• single piece of property. TUBERCULOSIS WISCONSIN EXPERT SAYS THAT TWENTY PER CENT OF THOSE SLAUGHTERED ARE INOCU LATED WITH GERMS. Madison, Wis., Dec. !S.—Twenty per cent of all hogs bought for slaughter are infected with tuber culosis, according to a statement made today by Dr. M. P. Ravenel, professor of bacteriology at the Uni versity of Wisconsin. Dr. Ravenel has made a careful study of the actual conditions In many loJ*ge slaughter houses. He makes known his conclusions dn a detailed report. Marcy, of Boston, Dr. J. M. T. Finney, of Bal timore and other eminent physi cians. A feature of the session today was a paper gi\en by Dr. C. IT.
