Washington, Feb. 14.—Senator
' Augustus O. Bacon, or Georgia,
died at a hospital hero at two
o’clock tills afternoon.
Senator Baaon had been ill
nearly a month, having suffered
from Bright’s disease, but the
end came unexpectedly.
'Earlier In the day, It was an
nounced that he was much im
proved.
When he was first taken ill,
it was believed that a fractured
rib hud bccomjs inflamed. The
immediate cause of his death
was a blood clot on his heart.
The news of his death start
led his colleagues in the Sen
ate. Many memoers were deep
ly affected by the news, and a
hasty adjournment was taken.
