Fine Country Bacon Sells Readily.
Mr. J. L. Harris, living near Bar-
wick, and one of Thomas County’s
progressive, farmers, was in towu
today, and brought with him
four hundred and fortj'-seven
pounds, of fine country bacon and
shoulders, which he had cured this
season.
Mr. Harris brought the meat to
sell and had no trouble In disposing
of it, as good country cured meat
always commands a ready salp In
ThomaBvUle. The whole of it was
bought by C,olden Brothers, who
paid 14 cents a pounds for It.
It is said that the meat this
year kept unusually well and al
though the winter has not been an
especially warm one, it has been
25,000 a year each and who shall
do nothing but handle the county’s
affairs.
Under the present board system,
men are elected who make their
living in other business or profes
sion, and who exercise simply a
supervising function, while subor
dinate heads of departments are
employed td actually do the work.
