I The printers made us say, In our
last week’s items, that “Mr. James
| Donaldson was the guest of .Mrs.

We wish that our young men
would bear in mind the fact that we
have a Sunday School in our town,
and that instead of amusing them
selves in the way they do, would
remember that their place is in the
Sunday School. Wonder If they
ever stopped to think of the influ-
ense, they had on the younger
hoys. Stop and ponder over that
fact, young men.
“BLUE EYES,
Meigs, Ga., Feb. 26.—Some eigh
teen months ago a small, wee bit of
a chick watMered into our back
yard, looking lonesome, dusty and
travel worn, as well as hungry,
judging from the many chirps it let
go, and of course the lady of the
house decided to give it snelter <»nd
food, and to look after its future
happiness and comfort.
This young orphan of a chick was
given a roosting place ii* the chim
ney corner, with the crickets, the
weather being warm, and it soon
grew strong and fat, and became
quite a pet with all the family. This
same chick eventually grew to wom
anhood and began the production of
eggs, since which time she has pro- j
duced more than 2. r r0 of the shell
fruit, and the mother of 65 mere
small chicks, of which she brought
some 40 of them to maturity.
To-day, some dozen young hens,
all layers, keep company with their 1
mother, in the back yard, and fur
nish the table with an abundant j
supply of eggs.
Moral: Always look after the
poor orphans.
