naval officers, while declining to
make any public expression regard

Star has started a row with the
Grady Hospital authorities over the
discharge of Arthur George, a night
clerk, who was fired for refusing to
let a private physician see the dying
prise fighter "Jimmie" Grant.
The Star says that George was
simply obeying the Instructions of
Dr. Wolchcl, house surgeon, and that
If anybody was fired, 'It Bhould have
been Dr. Welchel. The Star charges
that Grady Is being mismanaged, and
announces Its intention of having
more to say along the same lines.

It was only after the decision of
Senator W- S. West not to make the
race for election to the office
which Governor Slaton had appoint
ed him, that tile Governor announc

didate. It was definitely known
that Senator West had been given
the appointment with “no strings
tied to it,” and had he decided to
enter for tbe short term, Governor
Slaton would have stayed out
that race.
