A marriage here Hut Saturday
evening, which had a touch ot rom
ance to It, was that of Miss Etta
Louise Pope, of Akridge, and Mr.
J. E. ;3haw. of Fort Gaines,
ceremony being performed In the
parlor of the Stuart Hou*.\
Mr. Shaw, arrived at Ochlocknee
Saturday at 5:33. Upon alighting
from the train he found Miss Pope
waiting In an automobile with a par
ty of friends. Coming to Thomas
vllle, they proceeded to the Stuart
House, where Rev. W. W. Harris
united them In marriage.
After the ceremony, the manage
ment of the hotel served a wedding
supper to the party. Mr. and Mrs.
Shaw left Sunday morning for Fort
Gaines where they will make their
home.
The bride Is the popular and at
tractive daughter of Mr. M. Pope,
of Akridge, and the groom is a well
known and popular and prominent
young man of Ft. Gaines. Among
those In the party attending the
marriage were Mrs. B. H. Pope,
-Jeff Pope and Kid Pope, of Akridge
Mr. C. A. Trice and several friends
of the groom, from Ft. Gaines.
The Boy Scouts, of Albany, are
spending the week In camp at Mil
ler’s Springs, on the Ochlocknee
River.
