tieth Century Club, a petition from
the -Boy Scouts, asking for better
sanitation for the town was read,
approved ‘by the Club, and presented
to the Mayor. The action -was view
ed favorably and a weekly collec
tion of all garbage -placed outside
by the house-keepers was ordered.

Merrillville, Ga., July 16.—The
protracted meeting, which waa ‘con
ducted at the First Baptist Churoh
by the pastor, Rev. R. G. Jackson,
Assisted by Rev. R. H. Dudley, the
blind preacher, came to a close last
Friday evening. Never before has
a preacher or a servant of God en
tered this place that won the love
and affection from the people gen
erally as did Mr. Dudley, who was
very much Interested In the church
and preached sermons which the
congregation appreciated. His heart
Is ever seeking and yearning for
lost souls. Five additions were
entered on the church roll as a re
sult of his ministry here.
