A WARNING
It has beenn stated that there are la.
bor agents operating in Thomas coun
ty for the purpose of drawing there
from workers for the Industries In the
East While no concerted movement
has been discovered, there are evi
dences of the fact that operations are
going on with that end in view. The
warning was Issued by State Labor
Commissioner Stanley that Georgia
was the hotbed of those workers.
This warning 1s for the purpose of
putting folks on notice that the state
of Georgia collects a fee of one thou
sand dollars for every one who oper
ates In every county. The fee, as can
be readily seen, is prohibitive and it
has not been paid perhaps in any
county in the state. Yet the fine is
collectable if you can find the man
who Is doing the business.
The South needB the negro and
everybody knows It. The working to
gether of the two races has been the
means of increasing the potential
wealth and citizenship of each rhee.
The state of Georgia Is protecting tbo
negro against odds that are Insur
mountable if be leaves, by refusing to
allow blm to be exploited by labor
agents, who are as unscrupulous as
any class that ever operated, and as
ruthless.
