The latter was a Methodist evangelist

years. Under the. preaching of . Mr.

church connections and joined the Car-
tersville Baptist church, being baptized
by. Mr.. Beaier.
Sheriff Hight and Deputy Singletary
made a journey to Pine Park gunday
and arrested Price Mennihg, a negro for
assault with attempt tomurder. Price
had a difficulty with ahother negro
named Ponder, and shot him in the hipl

Merritt lias issued instructions in regard
to the school census which is to be taken
durihg. June, July rind August. He
suggests that the enumeration be made

He says returns should show whether
the census is taken by militia districts or
irab-schotd districts. In country dis
tricts the laxpd lots should be given, iff

Rev. Alex W. Beaier, of Cartersville,
has accepted the call of the Thomasville
Baptist church and Will arrive in tins
city to assume his ministerial duties on
July 1st.
The call was extended to Rev. Beaier
two weeks ago and he replied accepting,
provided certain conditions were com
plied with. At a meeting Sunday morn
ing the church agreed to Rev, Beaier’s
conditions and the matter is accordingly
settled. V
Rev. Beaier is 1 one of the brightest
local school system may be
added to the school population of the
territory of thfe local school system,
when the county hoard of edneation has
defined the limits of the territory which,
in the judgment of said board, should be
included in a district with a local school
system. In such cases the school popu
lation of the territory to be added to the
school population of the local system,
should be reported separately, and there
should be sent to this deportment a copy
of the resolutions of the county board of
•education, authorizing any territory to
be included in same district with a local
school system.
