The four ushers, Messrs. Harry Ains
worth and Claude Ansley and. Julian
Mitchell and Will Parker, led the way
down the center aisle back to the pulpit.
The attendants closed in behind them,
and the maid of honor, jnst proceeding
the bride, followed them. v \
Miss Mitchell, beautifully gowned in
white organdie over china silk, and car
rying white carnations, entered the
church at the main door, on the arm of
Mr. John Tate Watt, who gave her
away. ;

formed the ceremony in an impressive

quently gotten together to while away
pleasant hours, and as a general tiling
the hours go by* much more swiftly than
•they are due.
One of these happy gatherings last
week was at the home of Mrs. Rosa
Evans on Thursday night. Misses Meta
Neel and Bessie^Jones, and Mrs- Evans
and Mrs. Bonneil, were assisted in the
whiling away process by Messrs. Walter
Hammond, Pierce Harley, Harry Ains
worth mid Clyde Neel. '
Later in the week, on Saturday night,
Miss Carrie Jones was given a flinch
surprise .party. Misses Lucile Ansley
And Louise Hayes, with Messrs. Fred
Jones, Tim Chisholm and Earnest Ayer

important changes which will take place
in thb offices of the Atlantic Coast Line.
Mr. Joel Tucker, 'private secretary to
Supt. W. B. Denham, has resigned his
position to go into business for himself.
Mr. J. H. Owen, of Savannah, has"suc
ceeded Mr. Tucker, and he will be in
turn, succeeded by Mr,. Robert Denham.
Mr. W. H. Blake of this city goes to
ijf&vannah'to take tlie place vacated by
Mr. Denham* All of these young gen-
tiemea are well known in Thomasville
where they, have served at different
times during the last few years. Their*
many friends in this city will read with
interest of their increased responsibility
and wish them much success.
J. A. Tuggle of Abridge was a visitor
to Thomasville bn Saturday.' Mr. Tug
gle says he has twenty acres in cotton
and that the crop prospects are the best
n years.
