The recent article in theTimes-Enter-

va by Mr. E. M. Mallette has developed
the fact tfcat considerable.of the swine-
fattening Jjfood js grown in Thorhas,
connty.J .Manyfof the farmers': of the'
coupty visit the office‘ at this particular
season of the year to renew their- alle^
giance to the coufij^r paper that they
lia^e read for so many years. They are
an intelligent and well-informed class of
men and are entirely up-to-date, in all
matters pertaining to agriculture.
Many of them hare discovered the
value of cassava as a food, for hogs, and
the product is grown on scores of farms
in Thomas county. Among the growers
is Hr. W.jl. Ipne of the Duncanville
district.! He visited the Times-Enter-
prise office on Saturday and brought

of the invention as is shown .by his in- i

Friday morning Mr. J. fe. Nantz
broke ground for the erection of a cot
tage, which he will use for renting prop
erty. The house will be situated on
Clay street between Madisorf and
Stephens streets, back of Mr. Nantz’s
residences It will be a modern and
neat five room cottage.
! So great is the demand for desirable
renting ^property in Thomasville that
the house’has been rented already.
4 Mr. Nantz has leased it to a tenant
who says£he wants .to reside there as
’ long as tj^stays in Thomasville.
1 The Times-Enterprisehas often said
* that desirable renting property is the
L best kind of^an investment for Thomas-
1 ville people and JMr.-Nantz’s experience
1 bears out the assertion.

Des Moines, Iowa, Nov. 13.—The
first snow of the season fell here today.
Omaha, Neb., Nov. 18.—A light snow
fell over the eastern part of Nebraska
today, the first of the year.
From the above dispatches 4* will he
seen that our northern friends who are
coming south are doing so none too
soon. The news reads strangely and
one Can hardly believe it to be true
when thinking of'the past few days in
Thomasville. The weather has been
unusually warm for this season of the
year and Friday the remarkably
high temperature of SI degrees was reg
istered. A ' peculiar coincidence is
found in the fact that on the 13th day
of last November the maximum temper
ature was S3 degrees. It neither looks
nor feels like November.

The difficulty between^the Express 1

by the Express company, has been set- j
tied. - * j
Recently the council of Moultrie pass- ]
ed an ordinance to prevent the delivery j
of whiskey sent by express to persons in j
that town. The|Oompany claimed the j
right tojdeliver any goods shipped to j
tLeir office; however, after much wrang
ling, in compliance with the law they j
refused to bring the whiskey in for a j
few days. In|t|efmeantime ‘the com- j
pany appealed:to their attorney, Hon. j
Fleming duBignon, who decided that'j
the ordinance was antagonistic to the j
statutes regulating common carriers;
and advised them to continue the de- •
livery of the disputed article; whereup
on the council repealed the ordinance :
