BAIL HOAD MEETINGS IN MITCHELL AND BAKER COUNTIES. We take pleasure in announcing that the oitizeus of Mitchell county have called for a meeting at Camilla, on Saturday the 3d day of August, for the purpose of taking stock in the South Georgia Sc Florida ltailroad. A meet ing will also be held at Newton, in Ba ker county, on Monday the sth day of August, for the sftme purposS—Xh<\ Hon. James L. Seftafd and Col. S. B. Spencer of Thomasville, will bo present at both meetings, and will address the citizens of those counties upon the merits of the South Georgia & Flo rida Railroad. We hope those gentle men will continue on to Albany, and bring us more good tidings from the other end of the road. BARBECUE IN MITCHELL. Wo are requested to give notice that n grand Barbecue will be given at Camilla, Mitchell county, on the First Saturday in August, for a grand Mass Railroad Meeting at that place. The industiious and gentlemanly agent now engaged in putting up the wires on the A’lantic & Gulf Railr ad, was in town last night, and sends us a message that the line will be complete between Thomasville and Savannah by Tuesday next. He has also promised us a dispatch over the line for our Tuesday’s issue, and we have no doubt that he will keep his word. This Company has been very energetic in carrying out the project of conetniet. ir<g telegraph linos on the Atlantic & Gulf Road and its branches, aud the completion of this line to Thomasville brings them to the present terminus of the road. FIRE ENGINE. The active Foreman of Neptune Fire Company, Mr. G A. Jeffera, has returned from Savannah and announ ces the gratifying intelligence that ho secured an engine for the Company, and will have it in ThomaEVil'c in two weeks. insurance must conic down.
