Eighteen Hun dred and Sixtv one, the Defendant made and delivered to iMaintitPs intestate, his promis non note, whereby the Defendant promised to pay J. S. Neely or bearer. Five Hundred and Eighty one (o() 100) Dollars, twelve months after the date thereof, for value received, and that afterwards on the twentieth day of April of the same year, the Defendant, the better to secure the payment of said note, executed ami delivered to said Neely his Deed of Mortgage, which the same Defendant mortgaged to said Neely, Lot of Land, Number Three Hundred and Twenty, in the Thirteenth District of said county, containing Four Hundred and Twenty Acres, more or less.
