The notes sf this Third Series are
precisely similar in form and privi
leges to the Seva naThirties already
sold, except that the Government re
serves to itself the option of paying
interest in gold coin at G per cent iir
stead of 7 o-lOths in currency up to
July 15th, at the time when they sub-,
scribc.
The delivery of the notes of tins
third series of the Seven-thirties will
commence on the Ist June, and will
be made promptly and continuously
after that date.
The slight change made in the con
ditions of this third series affect only
the matter of interest. The payment
in Gold, if made, will be equivolent to
the-currency interest of the higher
rate. •
Ihe return to specie payments, in
the event of which only will the op
tion to pay the interest in Gold be
availed of, would so reduce and equal
ize prices that purchase!! made with
six per cent in gold would be fully
equal to these made with seven and
three-tenths per cent in currency.—
