all Citv Liceuses, except for spirituous liquors,
shall lie taken out for one year from the first
of March, and under one hundred dollars per
annum be payable in full on the first of March
of each year, or if taken out after that date, to
he paid for pro rata up to the succeeding first
ot March : all Licenses over one hundred and
less than two hundred dollars to he paid semi
annually in advance : and all Licenses overt wo
hundred dollars to he paid quarterly in ad
vance! Provided, That all Licenses which are
not paid in lull at me. time liiev are issued,
shall good and sufficient security for
prompt and lull payment, as iliey may become
due. Licenses to sell spirituous liquors to he
paid quarterly in advance.

Council of the Totrnof Thomasville, That
the Marshal is hereby authorized and empow
ered to summon aud call out. whenever at
his discretion he may think it a proper time,
all able bodied male citizens between the ages
of eighteen and forty rive rears, bv posting
notices of such call and time in various parts
of the town.
Be it further ordained by the authority
aforesaid. That such call shall be made for five
days or less, subject to a penalty of oue dollar
tine for neglect ro attend, each dav.
Be it further ordained by the authority
aforesaid. That such citizens, so called out,
shall be employed iu working the streets re
pairing bridges, and doing all other needful
work on the public thorougfares within the
corporate limits of the town, under the direction
of a competent Superintendent, to be appoint
ed by Council.
