OlarenE. Switzerland, July 14.—Paul Kroger, former president of the Trans vaal Republic, died here early this morn ing from pneumonia and supervening heart trou ole. He lost consciousness Monday. The body was embaipiod and will be placed in a receiving vault pen ding funeral arrangements. Joe Hill Hail introduced a bill that passed the house of representatives by a vote of 97 to 29 requiring all rail roads to havo a state charter. All ex cept the Southern Railway have such, and tho bill is intended to mnke the Southern submit to trials in state courts instead of carrying everything to the United States court. Messrs. Mitchell and Singletary of Thomas voted for the bill, Mr. Rountree's vote is not recorded. A former Georgian heads the delega tion from sonth Texas to the St. Louis convention. Ool R. M. Johnson, editor of the Houston Post, is his name. He formerly lived at Quitman.—Enquirer Sun. Runzi Johnston's father, Tru* man W. London, July 16.—At a meeting of the privy council, at which King Edward presided today, permission was granted for the interment of the remains of Panl Kruger, late president of the Trans vaal Republic, in his own country.
