WINE TAX License of S2.000 Fdr Handlers of Domestic Vintage In Effect Today. The county commissioners at their meeting in September passed a law fir- * ing tbo license for dealers in domestic wtn?s at s*?,000 per annum. This is of course a prohibitive tax and means that one will be allowed to handle wine of Ids own vintage as the sale from it could not possibly profit tho seller that w j large amount. The new rule goes into effect today, October first, all oyer the county. It •earns to have given general satisfac tion to the people of tho county bat many think that an injustice has been, done the dealers in not allowing them to dispose of the stock already on hand. It is understood that at the meeting ot the connty commissioners next Tuesday a motion will be introduced to make file license effective Jan. 1, 1905. Tide will, if passed, give the dealers three more months to work off their stock on h tud. ' Hie city council at lta meeting Mon- day' ’trtitiiacted a number of important matters.
