Municipal Ownership Man ft*pu-
Olsten ’dna of Property Confis cation
Editor Times Enterprise:
Another election la soon to br held in
our city to determine whether the sov
ereign people will own and oontrol
their own Eleotrio Light Plant. They
have sa d once that they wish to own
their plant and their [decision at that
time waa fall of wisdom: The large
, majority 419 to 88 which the lane
‘ cel. ed indicated that the opinion < f the
[people of Thomasvllle on thie vital
question waa practically nnanlmon*.
On account of some technicality the
question will have to be again submit
ted to the people for another expression
of their approval.
There le an attempt on the part of
the present owners of the Electric Light
Plant to create the impression thst the
Ity is undertaking to ooofisioate their
property. Of oooree, those who oppose
the city’s owning tbs plant will we this
as an argument against city [owner
ship. There le no argument in it.
There la no disposition on the part of
tho city to injnre the property of any
oltixen, nor do tkoee who advocate city
ownership have any disposition to do
this. There will never be a time in onr
history when the city con own nnd
operate it* own Eleotrio Light Plant
without having the same proposition to
meet, became there will always be an
Electric Light Plant operated here by
private-oltiaens or private capital until
the oily gets Its own plant.
Thla proposition can be met fairly and
In this Inrtance will be met fairly and
fall consideration given to those who
now own the plant.
Nothing can be dona by the city to-
words contracting or agreeing to ooo-
tract for an Eleotrio Light plant nnlil
after the election to be held on the 8th
day of Jon*.
After that election, will oome the
consideration of contracting for
plant. When this to taken np nothing
bat the interest of all the dtiaena of
Thomaaville can be considered and in
purchasing this plant good judgement
most be exercised and cental estimates
moat be made in order that the city gat
a plant at the very lowest possible coat
and otto that can be ran and operated
with aa little expense as possible and
one adequate to the needs of the city
and ita dtirena. How foolish it to to
even consider, at thla time the purchas
ing of the; plant now operated here or
any other plant. The dtty has no
authority yet from tho people to oon-
rlt.
£Th# present owners of the plant, whan
the Urns comes will bs given all tbs

they ask more It to beoause they with
to keep alive .the Idea that they are
being oppressed in the hope that some
will be influenced by it and thus de
feat the right* of the people. (

of the plant, and that you may rid

BLOOD POISONftKt
The disease that has done more *“ ' " --^5) VUCUY
than any other to wreck, ruin and v LilLIU I
humiliate life, is Contagious Blood Poison. Sorrow, shame and suffering ga
band in hand with this great enemy, and man has always hated and fought
it as he has no other disease. It is the most powerful of all poisons; no mat
ter how pure the blood may be, when its virus enters, the entire circulation
becomes poisoned and its chain of horrible symptoms begin to show. Usu
ally the first sign is a small tore or ulcer, not at all alarming in appearance,
but the blood is being saturated with the deadly poison, and soon the mouth
and throat begin to ulcerate, the hair and eyebrows drop out, a red eruption
breaks out on the body, copper-colored splotches and sores make their
appearance and the poison even works down into the bones and attacks
the nerves.' Not only is the disease hereditary, being transmitted from
parent to child, in the form of scrofula, weak eyes, soft bones, weak, puny
constitutions, etc., bnt is also so highly contagious that many a life has
been ruined by a friendly hand shake, or froth using the toilet articles of
one infected with the poison. To cure this blighting, deadly curse the
blood must be purified, and nothing will do it so
quickly and surely as S. S. S. It goes down to the
very bottom of the trouble, drives out every particle
of the poison and makes the blood clean and strong.
It does not hide or cover up anything, but from the
first begins to expel the poison and build up and strengthen the system.
S. S. S. is guaranteed purely vegetable. We offer a reward of fr.ooo for
proof that it contains s particle of mineral of any kind. Book on the dis
ease, with'instructions for honte treatment, and any advice desired, without
