Wooten yesterday forwarded his resignation as commander of the Fourth Georgia Regiment. Col. Wooton announced some time ago that he would take this action. Lieut. Col. Hopkins some time since announced his intention of ac companying his colonel Into retire ment. He was Interviewed last night by a Times-Enterprlse repre sentative. He said that he bad not received official notice of the colon el’s act but that he would follow his intention and send in his applica tion for retirement on Friday. He will retain hte rank which' he has on the active list. Col. Hopkins is the only Confederate veteran in the state troops.
