The motion for a new trial In the
blind tiger cases of Mitch and Nick
Sampson was overruled yesterday
morning and the cases will go to the

School Comnilsloner Merritt Is in re
ceipt of. the official figures on the
school population of Grady county,
the first of the new counties to make
such a report.
Grady will have 5,143 children
coming under the school age In this
state. Of this number Decatur coun
ty will give 2,421 to Grady leaving
Decatur with 6,544 children. Thom
as county Is to give Grady 2,722 from
Its school population, leaving 6,231
