In part the arrangements will be a duplicate of the very satisfac tory service of last year. There will be a through sleeper from New York to Thomasville every Tuesday and Thursday. A through sleeper from Tliomas^lle to New York will, leave here on the saome mornings of each week. There will be a Pullman par lor car running between Thomasville and Jesup every dayjnlhe week Tjiis will bo in effect the same as a sleep er every day as* the parlor car service is as comfortable as a sleeping Car and the change is merely from one car to another on the Jedup platform. There will be no change in the time of trains. Thethrough cars will go out on No. 82 at 6:IB each morn ing and will arrive on No. 85 at 4:20 in the afternoon. • The only cause for regret will be the discontinuance of the sleeping car operated for the last two win ters between Thomasville and Mont gomery. Heretofore this Pullman From Saturday’s Daily. Mr. Joseph Clifton is dead. This, news will come as a sad*shock to his fellow townsmen ‘and will cause gen-, nine sonow to all who knew and loved him for his genial disposition. Few knew that he had been ill. His; death came at 4 o’clock yesterday evening after a sickness of five days. Appendicitis was the cause of his demise. we send goods by express C. O, D. subject to ex- amir at ion before accepting. He was the son of a pioneer citizen of that section..,Ho enlisted and fought through the war with Gordon’s bri gade. Ho ,tyas always Interested In war matters. Last Memorial day his old company held a reunion here. Fite of the gallant wearers of the gray gathered here and spent a hap py day as Mr. Clifton’s guests. Af ter the war he went to Atlanta and from -there to Marietta. , Fifteen years ago he came to Thomasville and has always been one of the city's leading citizens and merchants. He was In the harness and buggy business on Madison street at the time of Ills death. He was a faith ful member of the Baptist church and was the clerk of the church. His last appearance in public was af church last* Sunday morning. He was taken 111 at the dinner table Sunday and grow steadily worse un til the end came. His loss will bo keenly felt by all but most by his wife who has the sympathy of the entire community. The bond of devotion between Mr. and Mrs. Clifton was unusually close. His death at this time Is particular ly sad, because he had just built and completed a handsome home on Lovo 1 street and had been living there but a few weeks. The only sister of Mr. Clifton, Mrs. John M. Green of Atlanta Is expected hero today for tho funeral. The last services over Ills body will bo said at tho church he loved so well. Rev. Alex W. Bealer will con duct tho ceremonies and the follow ing will bo the active pall bearers: W. W. Williams, Joseph L. Beverly, J. T. Culpepper, Georgo W. Beverly, S. A. Roddenbery, Ardls McDougall. Besides there will bo an honorary escort of R. G. Mitchell, W. M. Hammond, C. T. Stuart, J. W. Hightower. J. M. Dcklo and Robert Gamble.
