TWO GOOD OFFICERS.
Surveyor Stanaland and Coroner
Gandy Seek Re-election.
Two of Thomas county’s good
officials this morning formally ask
the voters of the county to re-elect
them for another two years. Coro
ner Charles Gandy Is a Confederate
veteran who lost an arm In the ser
vice of the state. He has held the
office for two terms and has given
the county a faithful and economical
administration. He has a Wide fam
ily connection and Is popular with his
fellow citizens. In 1S04 he had no
opposition and none has yet devel
oped this year.
Surveyor H. J. Stanaland Is an
other faithful official of which many
good things are to be said. He Is
a competent civil engineer, and the
land lines that he runs are sure to
be correct. He has a genial manner
that readily wins him friends, and
there has -been no complaint at the
way he has, handled the business of
his office.
Neither of these positions yield a
big salary, and the county Is real
ly fortunate when such good men as
these two can be found to Dll them
TO PLAT BASEBALL.
Waycross Elks Will Meet Thomas
vllle Brethren on, May 11th,
Perhaps the first baseball game
ol the season will be that between
the members of the Waycross and
Thomasvllle Elk ledges. This Is
scheduled to take place on the elev
enth ot May. Last fall the Thomas
vllle boys went over to Waycross,
and stacked up against a rather In
glorious defeat, as well as a mighty
pleasant time. They say the result
will be different this time, except as
to the pleasure. The proceeds of the
game will be devoted to charity.
There are some good players In the
local lodge, and the game will be
worth traveling miles on a rainy
night to see.
IMPORTANT TO THOMASVILLE.
Profit by This and Find Safeguard
Against Many Ills,
■Nothing Is more Important to
Thomasvllle that the good health of
her people. How can they fill their
place in this busy town unless they
are well?
No one trouble Is responsible for
more nervous Ills, sleeplessness, gen
eral debility, weakness, back-aches,
rheumatic pains, even 111-temper and
peevishness, than Indigestion.
Fortunately, a combination of rem
edies, called Ml-o-na stomach tablets,
has been discovered that absolutely
cures Indigestion and restores
health and strength the whole di
gestive system.
So reliable Is Ml-o-na In curing
all forms ot stomach weakness and
troubles that Montgomery & MacIn
tyre give a signed guarantee that the
remedy will cost nothing unless it
cures. Ml-o-na sells for 50 cents,
and Is Invaluable to anyone who suff
ers with Indigestion, nervousness or
weak stomach.
Pennies spent In advertising today
will bring dollars In the future.

Dear Sir: Good yarn: How we
tot our agent at Delhi, N Y.
Gladstone A Paine were agents for
; we mustn't tell names.
We wanted 'em. Paine was painting
his big Colonial house. Said it took
10 gallons of white for the trim.
We sent him 10 gallons and said:
if you get It all on, no pay; if yon
have any left, return it and pay for
the rest Agreed.
He returned four gallons and took
the agency. Four or fire years ago.
He knows now that his old paint
was and Is adulterated; that's why it
took ten gallons to equal six of ours.
Go, by the name; there is hat one
name to go by: Devoe lead-and-zinc.
Yours truly

MONTICELLOANS WANT IT.
Committee Visits Moultrie Seeking
For Georgia Northern.
Mr. A. Simon, a leading merchant
of Monticello, Fla., W. M. Girar
deau, an influential citizen and leg
islator of Florida, and W. E. Evans
a leading real estate man of Mon
ticello, composed a party here to
day. They came up to present the
claims of their city for the south
ern terminus of the Georgia North
ern railroad which is planning to
extend Into Florida. They held a
lengthy conference with the Georgia
Northern officials and the advantages
of Monticello as a business point arid
suitable southern terminus were gone
over. The meeting Is said to have
been- a pleasant one and it is possi
ble that the foundation was laid for
practical results, though we were
Informed that nothing definite was
agreed upon. The negotiations will
continue and it Is probable that the
Georgia Northern officials will meet
again with representative citizens of
the Florida town on some date in
the near fixture when the possibili
ties of that territory will be gone
over fully.—Moultrie Observer.
