Atlanta. Ga., May $8.—A - special

C., say* that a mob took John.V.
Johnson, white, from jail there about
1 o’clock this morning and carried"
him a quarter of a mil* from town,
where they hanged him and riddled
his body with bullets. The jail door
was broken down, and when the’
sheriff heiltated about turning over
the keys, ta mob threatened to ehoot
Johnston In hte cell.
Johnston was charged with mur
dering hte brother-in-law, Owynn
Johnston. Th* trial at ta last term

The body of Johnston was left
