Supreme Court [Knocks
Out City’s FamousjDry
Ordinance.
By a decision of the supreme court
handed down Friday, the city ordin
ance against having on hand liquor
for-sale, was declared void.'The
reason given is that the ordinance
does Hot make an exception In its
reading to the sale of domestic wines.
The decision Is far reaching In Its
effect on dry ordinances fn other
towns as well as this.’
It chines as a reversal of a decis
ion of Judge Hansell In the city court
of Thomasvllle, fn the Duren case.
This has been one of the hardest
fought In the history of the town,
and Has twice been carried to the
supreme court by attorney Theo Ti
tus, for Mr. Duren. The last, case
went up on a habeas corpuscles, and
will result In the release of the
plaintiff from the custody of the city
marshal.

-JR COLD.
A. J. Nushaum, Batesvllle, In
dians, writes: “Last year I suffered
for three long months with a sum
mer cold so distressing that it Inter
fered with my business. I had many
of the symptoms of hay fevSr, and a
doctor's prescription’ did not reach
my case, and I took several medl
clnes which ooeraed to only aggravate
roy case. Fortunately I Insisted up
on having Foley’s Honey and Tar
and It quickly cured me. My wife
has since used Foley’s Honey and
Tar with the same success.” f

Atlanta, Ga., August 20.—Mis
ses Ethel and Mable Lawrence, who
live four miles from Atlanta, were
assaulted this morning by an un
known negro. The older of the
ypung ladles was knocked In the
head and an attempt at criminal as
sault was . made. Miss Mabel es
caped and ran to Hunter's dairy,
nearby, giving the alarm. A posse
is searching for the negro, and If he
Is caught a lynching may follow.
ft seems that Atlanta has had
more affairs of this kind recently
than all the other portions of the
state together. The Atlanta News Is
arguing that the best way to cope
with this most horrible of all crimes
Is the generous use of the rope.
SORES and ULCERS
TBOUBLESOME-GFFEHSIVE-DAHGERDOS
Nothing is more discoaraging than to have an unhealthy sore. of
nicer resist one treatment after another, sometimes scabbing over and
apparently getting well, then re taming with renewed energy and becoming
Worse than before. Sores and nicer* are not due to outside ceases; it they
were, salves, piasters, lotior.s, etc., would cure them. They are kept up by a
diseased and polluted condition of the blood brought on by the absorption of
refuse and waste matters of the body iqto this vital fluid. These acccumuli
tions find their way into the blood, usually because of an inactive and sluggish
condition of the system. Nature intend? that they shall be carried off
through the nsnal channels of waste, but the different members failing to
perform their duties properly leave the matter to sour and ferment. The
blood then, in its effort to keep the system healthy, absorbs these pdisons and
at the first braise, cut or wound the sore is formed, and the constant
drainage of fool matter through it keeps the place open and irritated
to it cannot heal. Another cause for old sores and ulpers is the pol
luting or weakening ot the blood from the re
mains of some constitutional trouble or the
effects of a long spell of sickness. S. S. S.
begins at the fountain-head and drives out all
9 poisonous matter and germs, and makes a last-
VEGETABLE ing cure. As soon as the system gets under
the influence of S. S. S. the inflammation
gradually leaves, the flesh takes on a healthy color, and soon the place is
permanently healed. Book on sores and ulcers and any medical advice with

'Women’s Pains-
i*3a*
“I was a total wreck,” writes Mrs. Beulah
Rowley, of Champoeg, Oregon, “from pains I had
suffered, for 4 years, every month. Sometimes I
would be unconscious for 12 hours at a stretch. I
did not know that anything could stop the pain
entirely, but Wine of Cjirdui did. I advise all
women suffering with painful periods to use Car-
dui and be relieved.”
It does this by regulating the .functions and
toning up all the Internal female organs to health.
It is a pure, specific, reliable, female remedy, with
a record of 70 years of
success. It has bene
fited a million others.
Why not you? Try it.

LETTER TO T. J. HAWTHORN.
Dear sir:
Here's honesty for you! North
Dakota has a pure paint law. Prof.
Ladd, the state chemist analyzes
certain paint labeled "contains only
lead and zinc and iz strictly pure,"
and find* It no lead at all, a resin-
ous oil, and benslae. It Is, however,
full-measure and contains no water.
That’s like the man tried for kill
ing his grandmother; proved that he
didn't set fire to tbe bouse.
No lend, but zinc and barytes, res
inous 611, and benzine—“strictly
pare lead and zinc paint 1"
Pure paint lx lead-zlnc-and-oll;
but that Isn't all; there Is such n
thing as proportion and make. The
strongest paint Is Devoe.
North Dakota Is doing a handsome
thing In holding these conlldence-peo-
pie up to scorn, she gives ther
names as well as their works.
Yonrs truly,
F. W. DEVOE.
Let an ad in the Tlmes-Enterprlse
do a little work for yon. Take a
rest.
