LUMBER FIRE.
Tonraine Mills Slightly Damaged
Wcdnesdsy Night.
Mr. 0. A. Arthur, manager of the
Touraine Mills of Touraine, was In
the city yesterday and reported that
his plant had a narrow escape from
destruction by fire‘Wednesday night.
The shed over the machinery and
some lumber was burned. Mr. Ar
thur stated that the loss would
amount to about 1500.00 If none of
the machinery was damaged, which
be thinks Is not likely.
The fire started early In the night,
The men at the plant worked val
iantly to save the property. To this
fact Mr. Arthur attributes the pre
vention of a costly blaze. He praised
In unstinted terms the work of the
men. It ,1s not known how the fire
started .

for years and after taking two bot
