brought In yesterday by Dr. Jeff
White, after a forty-live minutes run
on the Little Ochlockonee.
The animal weighed 22 1-2 pounds
and measures 38 inches from tip to
Alp. He is full grown, and Dr. White
says he la about as large as they grow
In this section.
The doctor and four of his best
dogs were alone In the sport, but
were about as successful as a larger
hunting party would have been as
they chaSed the cat only forty-live several months,
minutes. He put up a game light
but to no avail.

the Immediate family of Judge Jones.

of Boston; Mr. aid Mrs. Jfm Smith
and Mr. M. A. Fleetwood.
Judge Jones has been ordinary of
Thomas county for a number of
years, and no man nor official Is held
In higher esteem by his neighbors.
The people of Thomas county join
heartily with his Immediate family in
congratulating him upon the celebra
tion of his sixty-fifth birthday.

DOUBLE SUGAR CANE.
Twin Stalks of the Product That
Makes South Georgia Famous.
The natural history museum of the
Tlmes-Enterprlse received an addi
tion yesterday In the shapo of a
double stalk of sugar cane. It was
brought to town by Mr. W. H. Ben-]
ton, one of the county’s best known
farmers, who lives In the Chnstnln
neighborhood. The cane Is of the
common red variety. It starts as
a single stalk, nnd at tho third joint
from the base, branches off into two
weir developed stalks. There are
two knots, or "ey^s" at each Joint
before the branching.
Mr. Benton says that he ncyer saw
anything like it -before, nnd there
are few people that hnve. Mr. Ben
ton says if it happened again he will
save the double stalk for seed cane,
nnd hopes he can double his. crop
with this twin cane.
Revising Negro List.
R. R. Chastain and J. T. Chastain,
registrars are busy at the court
house revising the list of colored
voters for the October election. The
white lists were revised before the
state primary In August. There are
but few colored people who have reg
istered. The third regirtrnr, John
B. Eason is confined to his home by
illness and is not nctlng whit the
other members of the Board.
An Addition to be Made to Teate's
Museum.
T. A. Teate said yesterday morn
ing that he is In receipt of a letter
from Florida from a friend stating
that they had a sheet of petrified
honey he could have to add to his
museum to go along by the sldq of
Adam’s mill. The writer states thnt
tbls honey Is probably as ancient ns
the mill nnd that he may be able to
trace It back to Sampson’s bee hive.

lie Hagan at the home of her father,
Mr. J. Bagaa. Judge Dixon per
formed both ceremonies.

Mr. J. A. Smith of Grady county,
waa in the city yesterday. He has
formed a partnership with Mr. Len-
ard Berwick and they have purchased
the turpentine business of W. A. Pat
terson at Pine Park. This Is one
of the best turpentine properties la
South Georgia.
Badly Lacerated.
Lemy Davis, of Pavo was tbs vls-

was In someway jerked Into the saw
and badly lacerated. He will not
lose the hand.

T. F. Dyson, of Meigs, has been
adjudged a bankrupt in Judge Mer
rill’s court. The assets scheduled by
the bankrupt are nothing and the-li
abilities amount to $1711.85. The
first meeting of creditors will be held
on the 29 th of September, at which
the creditors will attend, prove their
claims and select a trustee.
