LEGAL ADVERTISEMENTS.
ARAMS WONT ACCEPT.
Now What Will the First District do,
Is the Question.
Savannah, Ga., Oct. 3.—Realizing
that Judge S. B. Adams Is practically
certain to refuse the nomination for
Congress from the first congressional
district, tendered him by the conven
tion at Waynesboro on last Friday,
preparations are being made by dele
gates to the convention for Its assem
bling In Savannah on Friday. It Is
possible that the convention mat
meet In the council chamber of the
city hall If the City Court room can
not be secured for It. Definite plans
will be made tomorrow.
If the convention meets again th<
delegations, it Is expected, will :/rt
again to vote for Brannan and Shep
pard but this cannot go on a great
while. Nearly seven hundred bal
lots have been taken already, and the
Brannan people had practically de
cided at Waynesboro to ngree to an
adjournment sine die so that the two
candidates might contest the election
again at the November election.
were advised to do this by Mr. Bran
nan at their last caucus, but decided
to present a few more names first.
When Judge Adams' name was pre
sented he was accepted by the Shep
pard delegates, but he had not been
consulted, and when he was, he prac
tically declined the nomination.
Atlanta. Ga.. Oct 3.—(Special to*
Thnea-Enterprtse.)—At a late hour!
tonight returns from the general
•lection throughout the state are!
coming In so slowly that nothing
defiaate dan be announced. It (3
regarded as certain that all of the
easatltutfonal amendments will re
ceive a majority of the popular rote,
though there was more opposition
to (he court of appeals than Is usual-
fbund to any constitutional amend-
ctent proposed.
From reports received to this hour !
T. C. Crenshaw, Independent candl- j
date against S. G. McLendon for rail- j
road commissioner has not carried
i
a county and has received only a few
votes anywhere, his race not making
a ripple.
The three ont of sixteen candidates
who received the greatest popular
vote will be declared Judges for the
court of appeals. It la Impossible
In Memory of Little Wllmer Kendrick
You had a little Jewell once.
He was your Joy and pride.
You loved him, ah, perhaps to well,
For soon he slept and died.
All Is dark within yonr dwelling.
Lonely are yotn- hearts today.
For one you loved so dearly,
Has forever passed away.
God Is his wisdom, has recalled.
The boon his love has given.
And though the body slumber hero,
His soul Is safe in Heaven.
Peaceful, be his silent slumbers,
Peaceful, In his grave so low. ..
He no more will Join your number.
He no more your sorrows know.’
Far away among the angela, In the
garden* up above,
Where the rosea rain In rapture,
and the soul white lllltes love.
He la waiting for your coming, In the
angel land today,
Far. from woeand pain and heart
ache, In. the land of-far-away.
Yea, he la 'gone, your precl^a dar
ling,
And yonr haart la bruised and

Dark the cloud, of sorrow that I* o'er

Yet look up stricken mother,

Remember on the bosom of the Sa

Think how happy la your darling,
In that glorious home above, free
From all temptations and dangers,
That would assail him here,
Free from earth, from death and sor

Yet again you’l meet him.
When the day of life Is Bed.
And In Heaven with Joy you will
