At half past eight last night the
Jury In the case of Watson and Gib.
son against G. A. Arthur brought In
a verdict for the defendant. The
case wont to the Jury at half past
five and It took them nearly three
hours to make up their minds. When
they did Judge Mitchell was sent for
and came down to receive the ver
dict. Tt)e defendant who la manager
of the Touratne Mills, was accused
of having damaged the plaintiffs by-
cutting trees less than sixteen inches
in diameter, on the lands of the
plaintiff’s. ...
As predicted In tli? Ttmes-Enter-
prise yesterday the case took up the
entire day. The witnesses for the
plaintiff were examined in the morn
ing, and then the defense sprung a
surprise when.they decided to intro
duce no evidence, but to base their
hopes on the claims that the piaiu-
tift hod made out mo case. W. M.
Hammond spoke for the plaintiff for
nearly two hours. His speech was
cut In half by the dinner hour. Fol
lowing him came S. A. Roddenbery
in a speech of equal length. The
case is a very complex one, and there
were predictions that the Jury will
disagree, and will not bo able to ar
rive at a verdict.
The value of the timber aleged to
have been cut Improperly Is placed
by the plaintiff at about six thousand
dollars, and the largo amount In
volved has caused considerable In
terest In the case.

broken and several teeth knocked
out. The blow was so severe that It
deprived him of consciousness for
some time and onlookers feared that
he had been killed. Physicians were
summoned, and his wounds dressed

The blow which knocked out Corbetl
was a revelation to the prize fighters.
From the earliest days of the ring tho
knock-out blow was aimed for tho jaw,
the temple or the jugular vein. Stomach
punches were thrown In to worry and
weary the lighter, but If a scientific man
had told one of tho old fighters that the
most vulnerable spot was tho region of
tho stomach, he’d have laughed at him
for an Ignoramus. Dr. Plerco Is bringing
home to the public a parallel fact; that
the stomach is tho most vulnerable organ
out of tho prize ring as well as In It. Wo
pratcctour heads, throats, foot and lungs,
but tho stomach wo are utterly Indiffer

and knocks us out. Make your stomach
sound and strong by tho uso of Doctor

you protect yourself In your most vulner
able spot. "Golden Medical Discovery"
