Persian Midwife Arrested on Charge
Systematic Infanticide.
Paris, Dec. 26.—A midwife living
in the Vivienne quarter has been ar
rested on the charge of systematic
murder of new-born Infanta.
The attention of the police was at
tracted by .the faet that no deaths
of children were reported from the
establishment, and an Investigation
resulted In tho discovery that too
midwife, with tho complicity ef a
servant, had cut up and burned the
bodies of the children In a big stove
n the dining room of the midwife's
residence.
The evidence obta'Ined Indicates
that 120 chjldren were murdered by
the two women.
