-Offered For Best Essay on Confed
erate Navy.
• - It was announced yesterday that
the city ( Board of Education had of
fered a prise of iv for the first best
-essay by any child In the public
school on the aubject "The Confed
erate Navy," and a prize of *3 for
the second best.
The county board of education
recently offered a prize of |10 for
the best essay on the same subject.
•These prizeB are In addition to the
prize of 15 recently offered by the
John B. Gordon chapter, of the
'Daughters of the Confederacy, and
the handsome medal that has been
offered by the Daughters of the Con
federacy to any child In Georgia.
