A recent issue of the Bainbrldge
Tribune contains the following card:
“I was informed that Judge Rod-
denbery made the assertion in his
address here Sunday afternoon that
there was not a vacant store in
Thomasville and to satisfy myself as
tp the truth of the assertion went
over to Thomasville yesterday to In
vestigate and I found 9 stores vacant
in the city. It seems that the famous
orator is a little off in statistics and
very ’poorly posted on the condition
of affairs in his own town.
CLINTON WILLIAMS."
The above is interesting to Thom
asville people who are acquainted
with Mr. Williams. He was former
ly. a resident of this place and later
of Cairo. He Is In error in stating
that there are nine vacant Btore
rooms In Thomasville. There Is but
one on Broad street, and that the
Stark corner, which is being fitted
up for occupancy next week. There
le vacant store on Jackson street
that Is ready for occupancy. There
some now in process of construc
tion, and not yet ready for tenants,
that are taking tho place of tenant
houses destroyed by the fire last
year. Those wll! be occupied when
completed, rent contracts having al
ready been closed in many cases.

Destruction Coming.
(From Friday’s Dally.)
Mr. T. A. Teate the well known in
ventor, discoverer of Adam’s mill
and sewing machine man. In talking
to a Tlmes-Bnterprlse reporter yes
terday said that before the earth
again resumes the position It did
Thursday morning at 3 o’clock, that
newspaper men will have something
wonderful to chronicle.
"OTfc of the large cities of our
globe will be totally destroyed to
gether with a large portion of Its
surrounding country,” said Mr.
Teate. “This destruction will be
the result of either un earthquake
or will be caused by the invasion of
some hostile army. I do not think
a cyclone will fill the bill, for this
visitation of trouble will be*the
greatest the human family has ever
had.
‘T greatly fear that this great
phenomenon of trouble will be upon
American soil.
“Now there are some people who
will laugh at this prophesy, but I
want to say to these doubting Thom
ases that I was In Kingston, Jamaica
in a spiritual way twenty-seven
days before the earthquake struck
there. I was standing on the wharf
and saw' the city begin to rock and
tumble, hnd then fire began to break
out everywhere. The timbers sank
under iny feet, and whirling around
I went down covered by the waves.
“Now I am convinced that some
body met their death in just the
manner that I dreamed of.
“I predicted this great event to a
number of people on the Corning af
ter my dreim.”
Mr. Teate says tnat the coming
