vantage of the new system over the
old has been already fully proved.
Many milee of our principal high
ways are now fully equal to the best
to be found in our section of the
state, although the final work of
surfacing and rolling, has not been
fairly begun, and the Increased ease
and safety of travel, and ot hauling
already secured, gives sure promise
of what will be realised from a vig

work now in progress.
No argument can be necessary to
convince intelligent men of the great
