Report for May. .The Jail and
poor bouse received weekly atten-
tlon and both places are In a cleanly
condition. One has been received at
the poor houae. He came one day
and left the next. Thera has been
no deaths.
The convicts are unusually well,

ment. Have one squad of hands at
work on Irwlnvllle road near Mer
rillville, one on Troopevllle road
about ten miles northeast of Thom-
asville. Both of these squads are
being somewhat hindered on account
of labor since the price of labor has
| been raised In our midst. We are
! only getting the refused hands from
! other work. Nearly all of our best
I hands have gone to other work for
more pay. The convicts are on
the Montlcello road near boulevard.

AGED CITIZEN DEAD.
Pryor L. Craigmllcs Passed
Away Yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon at five o'clock
Mr. Pryor L. Cralgmlles passed into
the better land, after a short Illness!
His death occurred at his home near
the city. His funeral will take
place there this afternoon. It will
be conducted by Rev. John M. Out-
,er ' 4 ... .
Mr. Cratgmltes waa an old and
highly respected citizen. He came
to Thomas county Just after the w
from East Tennessee, and raised V
splendid family here. He is sur
vived by two daughters, Mlsres Min
nie and Bessie, and two sons, Wal
ter and Joseph. Mr. Cralgmlles liv
ed a long and useful life since then,
being nearly eighty years of age at
the time of his death. He was a
life member of the Baptist church
and a consistent Christian, who
leaves many friends to mourn his
loss.
His death follows shortly after
that of his son Clifton, and his wife
passed away a few months before the
ton. The deeply bereaved members
of the family have the sympathy of
all the community.
