A New Church.
A new Baptist church has been
lately organized at Pine Hill school
house. Last Friday a week pre
vious to tbls quite a number of ap
plicant* were baptized and received
into the church., Rev. A. J. Cone,

that Mr. Davis had a corn Beld near
some timber on which Mr. Arthur
held a lease and It was necessary to
cross this corh to get the Timber,
and a general misunderstanding
caused the quarrell. *

Hansell near here has been shut
down for tea days or more. It will
doubtless be Idle for sbcfiit 30 days
longer. This la In accordance with

The Baptist congregation at their
last conference decided to hold a
series of meetings, beginning Thurs

Tuesday night when tho news of
the passage of the state prohibition
bill reached here the big bell at the
Methodist church rang odt the newi

much surprised yesterday at the ve
ry sudden appearance of a horse In
hie taiorlng establishment. The
horse belongs to Dr. Bouchelle and
-was hitched to a telephone pole near

The animal became frightened
something and Immediately began
to move backward. Thla caused
great strain on h!> neck and a pas
serby cut the rope that bound the
animal to prevent him from choking
death. The frightened horse
knew of nothing else to do but to
