market was very active and excited

vance lh prices. The report that Dan
iel Sally has embarked on a cam
paign to more up prices appears to
hare had a strong effect, and local
quotation! hare advanced ,$2.50 per
bale since low lerel ot yesterday
morning. The opening today was
Arm at an advance ot 11 to 22
points. There was heavy realizing,
but offerings were absorbed by the
rush of buying orders apparently
from all sections, and after a slight
reaction the market adranved again
with March selling at 11.47 and
May at 11.53 before midday or about
a cent a pound above the prices rul
ing at the first of the year. Spot
cotton houses were heavy buyers
here.
