DOZIERBALLENGER.
Next Wednesday at the home of
’.he bride in Try on, N. C., will
occur the marriage of Mr. Thomas H.
Dozier, Jr , and Miss Mary Balleuger.
Mr Dozier, who is now one of the pop
ular young men of Tampa, Fla , is the
son of Oapt. Thomas H. Dozier, of this
city. Miss Ballenger is one of the most
accomplished young daughters of the
Old North State. The following from
the Tampa Tribune tells of this ap
proaching wedding :
••The approaching marriage of Mr.
Thomas H. Dozier, Jr., which will oc
cur December 17, in North Carolina, is
of interest to the many friends whom
the gentleman has won since coming to
Tampa. Mr. Dozier belongs to an old
Georgia family aud is a young man
highly respected for his own accomplish
ments. He has recently become the
local manager of the Southern Bell Tel
ephone and his fair bride from the tine
Old North State will be received with
great pleasure by his new friends in
this city.”

Miss Mildred Rutherford, president of
the chapter.
Mrs Rutherford was a sister of Gen
eral Howell Cobb and wife of Prof. Wil
liams Rutherford, who was for so long
a time professor of mathematics in the
University of Georgia.
After the war she was largely instru
mental in the organiz itiou of the Ladies’
Memorial Association and was at the
head of the movement that resulted iu
the erection ot the Confederate monu
ment in this city

On the morning of December 21st at
the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs
W. T Carlton, on Oconee street, occurs
the marriage of Mr. Tom Chappie, of
Elberton. and Miss Emmie Autry, of
Grifliu. They will leave immediately
for their future home in Elberton.
Mr. H. C. Todd, of Saratoga, N. V.,
will arrive in the city next week to spend
the Christmas holidays with his wife,
who is visiting the family of Mr. E. K.
Lumpkin.
The children of the city should be sure

Broken Rail Wrecks Train.
Fort Worth, Tex . Dec. 12—A Roil
Island northbound pasenger train ran
into a broken lail near Teiral. 1.
at midnight. Tho train was badly
wrecked. Engineer George Clark and
Fireman George Wells, both of Fort
Worth, worn killed. None of the pas
sengers were seriously hurt.
