The lecture was a mas terly exposition i f the grand old philosopher, whose bitter thoughts al so helpful and wholesome at. the vert- roots of their meaning. The guests who were the members of the Nine leentli Century Class, who were ask to share in the pleasure of the af!< jvcon, were seated for the lecture and tfterward delicious refreshments were servea buffet, when a unarming social hour was enjoyed. The ladies present were the mem bers of the clubs, which consists of about fifty ladies, numbering in tin-b anks some of the most prominent and intellectual women in the city.
