Thomasville, (la.. December 20.—
The citizens of Camilla at their last
primary for city officers elected a
mayor hv only a small majority of
three votes after a most strenuous
campaign.
Resting on tlie laurels of victory,
people forgot all about the election
confirming the primary, and none was
held.
This leaves them with no officers
for the coming yea.-, and is an in
stance unparalleled in the history of
municipal affairs. it is not known

Augusta dispensary proiiosition. The
dispensary people intend to place
their building as near as possible to
tlie Carolina end of'the steel bridge
that, connects Augusta and North Au

their revenue from the Augusta side.
City council has passed a resolution
favoring tlie establishment of a head

action is legal. The city attor

CORNER PULASKI AND DOUGHERTY STREETS.
Valdosta, (la., December 20.---Last
night, while his triin on the Geor
gin Southern and Florida railroad war
rushing along <it a rapid rate on its
way to Palatka, Engineer MoNabb
had- a remarkable experience.
He whs passing through one of the
swamps between this place ami PaJat
ka when a buzzard Hew into his cab
;ntd hit him squarely in the face. The
buzzard, hiifdly frightened, showed*
fight, and clawed and bit the engin
eer’s face frantically. Engineer Me
N ibh finally managed to get the buz
yard out of the window.
Evidently the huzz.trd had started
to tiy across the track or swooped
down too close to the big machine
and was drawn into the cab by the
current produced by the rapid move
ment ot the train. The engineer was
not hurt, but the experience rather
unnerved him for a short time.
