Mayor Dorsey passed on several
cases in his court yesterday. Robert
Jones, a negro man. had been rais
ing all kinds of disturbance on Clay
ton street. He was at Mr. Deadwv-
ler’s stable and became in voiced in
a dispute with F. M. Johnson. He
drew a hammer on Mr. Johnson and
threatened to strike him. He was
very boisterous and the mayor
thought a fine of twenty-five dollars
would do hint prod, so he ini|K>seI
it.
Will Green, col., was up for disor
derly driving. He was driving down
Lumpkin street at a fearful rate of
speed and ran into a buggy, damaging
tt considerably.. Mayor Dorsey, in
keeping with his former views on
this subject, imposed a fine of twen
ty-five dollars. t
Carrie Winfrev, col., was charged
witli cursing another negro woman.
The mayor let her off with $5.25
There were a few of the ordinary
drunks, but none who were of suffi
cient importance to put on the "cage
cure."
